FJR for sale
09/12/08 17:39 Filed in: Motorcycles
I am posting my FJR forsale. Here's a video of the
motorcycle.
If you look at the video, I show:
PowerLet (power for accessories on the motorcycle)
Starcom1 communicator port
Stem Stand (great for gps, radar detector, satellite radio)
Frame Sliders (in case the motorcycle were to ever go down, this helps cut down on damage)
I also show a small scratch near the back of the motorcycle.
Also the mileage is listed (87xx).
I am asking $8000.
I have a higher quality video in the Videos Section.

Two kinds of motorcyclists

There are two kinds of motorcyclists. Those who
have crashed. And those that will. I used to be in
the latter group. Until August 30th.
I was riding along, minding my own business when a deer jumped out at me.
Here's what my friend Jason had to say about it:

I was riding along, minding my own business when a deer jumped out at me.
Here's what my friend Jason had to say about it:
This is the story of Bambi the motorcycle slayer. Bambi set her sites on a silver Honda 1000RR. Her intentions that day were to take out the rider but little did she know that she was messing with the wrong dude! Big Tom was the one who would be doing the taking out.
On a serious note, we were just 30 miles out of our stop in Ozark, less that 1/2 mile from north end of the Pigs Trail (23) Tom was cruising along 75-80 mph and the deer was out in the open field heading to the road. There was a 4 ft barbwire fence and a large tree and the deer decided she was gonna cross. There were six loud bikes and two cars coming the opposite direction and she was still coming, so those little whistles to frighten deer are a waste of money. The doe crossed Toms path at that precise moment and scored a direct hit, sending Tom over the bars and down onto the road where he tumbled to a stop. The intestines were blown out sending shit onto everything in a 50 ft radius. The car in the pic was heading the the opposite direction, the woman had all the windows and sunroof open. Its just crazy luck the she just happened to be a first response paramedic and it her trunk was a neck brace and supplies. Unfortunately the suit had to be cut off but it did its job. Tom did not suffer any major injuries. Just some bruising and small scratches on his hand and knee. but was taken to the hospital anyway to get checked out.
Jeremy and Jason George are the hero's here for riding 2hrs in the pitch black to get the truck. That's not a ride I could of made! Great job guys.
We had this ride figured out and on this trip nobody was going down and no amount of preparation could stop this from happening, so the only line of defense is good riding gear. It save him from a lot of pain for sure.
Beside the crazy accident we did have a lot of fun and discovered some new roads and captured some good video. Hope to put it together soon. Thanks hope to see you all soon and glad your OK Tom.
